You were an earth angel Roger, you helped both of my sons learn to read and you brightened my day with our chats in my school office! That's how we met, you volunteering your time with other church members, spending time with the children at Larchfield School. I always remember you telling me how much I would get on with your daughter, you'd laugh about it because we were so similar, and you were right, without even knowing who she was, Kerry and I became fast friends and then there you were, my best friend's dad, back in our lives again!! This made you happy. This made me happy too!
You have always been a huge support to me and my family, you love my boys and would support both of them in whatever they were doing, messaging words of support or interest, always asking after them and cheering them on in life. Ethan and Josh really admire you Roger, Josh will definitely miss his biggest fan on the side of the football pitch, so will I.
You are so so loved, the family bond you've created speaks volumes about the man that you are. The love for you oozes out of the loved ones here today missing you. Your family always looked at you with love in their eyes, loved beyond measure.
On a personal note, you were a source of strength and inspiration throughout my own personal journey. Sometimes there was only you I could message who really understood where my mindset was at after my own diagnosis, and I am already missing having you to reach out to, but I am so very grateful and blessed to have had that with you, even for a short while. We shared private jokes and private tears too. I know you always told me I was your inspiration but Roger, you were truly mine.
Your body grew tired and you've flown home, pain free and back to Roger at his beautiful best, having the most beautiful time and watching us all here crying like babies. Some of us are ugly crying too!
We love you and miss you and are so grateful to have had you in our lives, we will forever be a part of your beautiful family and I thank you so very much for sharing them with us.
